July 5, 2020 06:06 PM

A Multan-bound flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) coming from Bishkek made an emergency landing at Sukkur Airport due to bad weather, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

The PIA flight, PK-9514, en route from Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, had to land at Multan Airport but was forced to land at Sukkur due to harsh weather conditions. The plane was landed safely at the airport and no injuries were reported.

The flight was scheduled to leave for Multan after the weather calms down while the passengers remained seated inside the plane.

On June 10, a PIA flight from Riyadh had to make an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, after the plane developed a technical fault. The PIA flight PK-8726 developed an issue with the door of the plane as it was unable to be closed properly.

Similarly, in May this year at least 99 people were killed while two others survived miraculously after an ill-fated PIA plane crashed on the residential buildings near Karachi Airport.
