Child kidnapper killed by ‘accomplices’ in Lahore encounter

One Shehbaz, who had kidnapped a five-year-old child and demanded Rs100 million ransom for his release, was killed in firing by his ‘accomplices’ during a shootout with police in Batapur area of Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The police teams, on a tip-off that the accused and his accomplices were hiding near Dera Bhaisan village, carried out a raid in the area.
The suspects opened fire on the police teams as soon as they saw near them.
In the crossfire, accused Shehbaz was killed in firing by his accomplices.
Awais, an accomplice of accused Shehbaz, managed his escape good from the scene.
The police, however, arrested the female accomplice of Shehbaz who is also the step-maternal grandmother of five-year-old Areez who had been abducted for ransom.
According to police, the step-maternal grandmother of the child was identified as Mahwish, and she was allegedly the mastermind of the child’s abduction for ransom.
The SP of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) told the media that a case of abduction for ransom had been registered against the accused at Sundar police station.
He added that the police teams of Iqbal Town, Model Town and CIA took part in the raid against the accused.
