Rain follows windstorm in Punjab: Three die in Gujranwala wall collapses

Rain followed windstorms in parts of Punjab including the provincial capital Lahore, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

At least three people and several sustained injuries in dust/windstorm-related incidents.

In Gujranwala, a mother-of-two and a child died in such tragedies, rescuers said.

Officials said three children were injured as a wall collapsed due to windstorm in the Shakargarh districts

The injured, two of them critical, were rushed to a hospital, the officials added.

The strong winds and rain lashed Lahore, Patoki, Okara, Multan, Muridhke, Narowal, Kasur, Faisalabad and the surroundings.

In Lahore, rain brought down temperature and citizens called it a blessing in June.

Tripping and power cuts were reported in various areas. Power supply from several feeders was cut due to the windstorm.

The storms sent traffic out of gear in several cities.  Visibility was affected by the strong storm in Kasur and its surroundings.

In Murree, rain made tourists throng the streets and envoy pleasant weather. The temperature dropped to 19 degrees Celsius
