He on the occasion pointed out that the laws of religious harmony were 160 years old as they were introduced in the British era. “These laws were enacted and punishments were announced to ensure the sanctity of all religions,” he added.

“The issue of Nawaz Sharif’s lifelong disqualification will also be resolved soon,” he said, adding: “The Constitution and the law allow peaceful protests, but, protests cannot be organised where section 144 is imposed.”

He also advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to look at his mistakes and shortcomings before giving a call to march on Islamabad.

“The PTI government was removed through a constitutional manner. But, the PTI resorted to unconstitutional means to save its government,” he flayed.

“Due to the incompetence of the PTI, its allies left it. Corruption scandals of the PTI government are coming to the light with each passing day,” he maintained.

“Everyone should take care of the dignity of his post. Some people are giving more importance to their party leader than the Constitution. Such people are distorting the Constitution for the sake of their party leader,” he castigated.
