PML-Q leaders skip PM Imran’s lunch

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has decided not to attend the luncheon to be hosted by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today (Thursday) for consultations with the allies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi and Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema have opted to stay away from the lunch. No other lawmaker of the PML-Q will also not attend the lunch, the TV channel reported.

It may be mentioned here that the PML-Q had earlier declined to attend a dinner hosted by the prime minister.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited heads of the allied parties to the luncheon in the PM House at 3.00pm in Islamabad today where the premier will take the allies into confidence over the prevailing political situation in the country.

They are also expected to hold consultations on how to deal with the Opposition’s protest movement.

Awami Muslim League’s Sheikh Rashid Ahmad will attend the lunch, Federal Minister Aminul Haq will represent the MQM, Dr Fahmida Mirza will lead GDA delegation, Balochistan Awami Party’s delegation will be led by Zubaida Jalala.

According to sources, the former ally of the PTI ruling coalition, Balochistan National Party-Mengal, had not been issued an invitation.
