Power Division directs PESCO to control rising attacks on grid stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Power Division, Ministry of Energy has decided to take strict action over rising attacks on various grid stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Power Division, in a letter written to the Chairman Board of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), demanded that legal action should be taken against the attackers.

Power Division made it clear that if local police fail to curb such elements then PESCO staff should move to the court. The letter further said if the police and session judge fail to solve the issue, then PESCO should refer the case to Peshawar High Court.

Power Division letter said that solution will be sought from the Peshawar High Court through an experienced legal advisor.  Action will also be taken on the incident of MPA of Peshawar and Tehsil Nazim of Dargai.

The Frontier Constabulary will be engaged to protect the grids and other installations of PESCO.

The Power Division will take up the matter with the Interior Ministry. Videos of grid stations being attacked and occupied will also be released on social media and those involved in attacks on grid stations will also be exposed in the media, the letter added.
