Four people were killed while another three sustained serious wounds as a fire broke out in a foam shop near Arshi Shopping Mall on Ayesha Manzil in Karachi Wednesday afternoon.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the blaze quickly spread to the adjacent shops and engulfed The Mall.

According to the fire officials, three fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze.

However, they faced difficulties in extinguishing the fire due to the large amount of foam stored in the shop. The foam acted as a fuel and intensified the fire, they said.

The Pak Navy also came forward to extinguish the fire.

The fire officials also said that they were trying to prevent the fire from reaching the nearby gas station and causing a major explosion.

The Sindh Building Control Authority sealed the building.

According to the authority, the building will remain sealed until the complete inspection.
