IHC rejects plea for SC consultation over new NAB chairman

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed the petition that had been filed for consultation with Chief Justice of Pakistan regarding the appointment of the chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition.
“How can a court dictate the appointment of the NAB chairman?” IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah raised a question while hearing the petition.
“This is the prerogative of the Parliament and not the courts,” he stated and dismissed the petition saying: “Your petition is rejected.”
