Zil Hajj crescent sighted; Eidul Azha to be celebrated on June 17 in Pakistan

The crescent for the month of Zilhaj sighted in Pakistan as the Eidul Azha will be observed on June 17 in the country.

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announced the decision of the committee.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan met to see the moon of Zil Hajj in Karachi as the people across the country gear up for Eidul Azha.

The moon sighting committee was chaired by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, while sub-committees also met in their respective areas to gather testimonies.

Eidul Azha falls on the 10th day of Zil Hajj, which also marks the Hajj pilgrimage, and Muslims in Pakistan are expected to celebrate the occasion on June 17, as the moon will likely be sighted today.
