The Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has banned the use of mobile phones for the medical staff during duty hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

A letter in this regard has been issued to all the district health officers (DHOs) and medical superintendents.

According to a communique addressed to the officials concerned, the provincial health department said that the staff may use any basic phones and not the smartphones.

The authority further said that the staff should use mobile phones that don't have the internet, so the patients could be properly attended to. It warned that the use of mobile phones during duty hours is hindering in providing treatment to the patients.
