Stargazers will see the splendid scene of Super Moon aka Pink Moon in Pakistan’s sky on Wednesday (today) at 7:35 pm.

This will be the fourth supermoon of the year. It’s about 10% closer and 20% bigger in area and brightness. The next supermoon will occur on May 7.

It is pertinent to note that Super Moon has already been seen in Europe and the US and it will be seen in Eastern countries when the moon reaches its peak on 14 date (full moon).

Supermoons occur when the moon is within 90% of perigee - which is its closest approach to Earth in orbit. The moon will appear brighter and bigger in the night sky.

April's full moon is also known as the pink moon. This is the first full moon of spring and its name comes from native North American wildflowers that bloom in early springtime: Phlox subulata, known as "moss pink," according to the Old Farmer's Almanac.

According to NASA, stargazers should also keep an eye on the sky in mid-April for a grouping of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and the moon in beautiful, bright alignment. This won't happen again for a couple of years.

According to UK media, stargazers have enjoyed the emergence of what is known as a pink moon in the night skies of Europe on Tuesday night. Despite its name, there is not any noticeable colour difference to the full moon - due to reach a peak in the UK at 03:55 BST on Wednesday. Tuesday evening's lunar light show was captured through breathtaking images.
