Comprehensive strategy to bring people out of poverty: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said for the first time in Pakistan's history, a comprehensive strategy has been devised to lift people out of poverty, 24NewsHD reported on Wednesday.

Chairing a meeting on Kamyab Pakistan Programme in Islamabad, the premier said the foremost priority of the government is to support the poor and the needy. China has millions of people out of poverty in thirty years while India failed to achieve the  target, the premier said. The meeting was briefed about inclusion of Kamyab Kissan, Kamyab Karobar, Kamyab Hunarmand, low-cost housing schemes and lending programme for Kamyab Pakistan Housing in one programme titled Kamyab Pakistan Programme.

The programme will play a pivotal part in economic growth, he said, adding that economic activities and making people self-reliant. Under the programme new applicants for housing, business and agriculture will be provided loans at mass level.
