Kidnappers set man free in Lahore after receiving Rs40 million in ransom

In yet another major incident of kidnapping for ransom reported from Lahore, some men kidnapped a citizen and released him only after receiving over Rs40 million in ransom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

On the other hand, as per the FIR registered by the police on the complaint of Adnan on June 16, on June 11, Ihsas Ghani along with seven others kidnapped him from Naseerabad area of the city.

Later, the FIR reads, on the same day at 8:00 PM, the kidnappers took him to a lawyer’s chamber in Model Town where they tied him with a chair and subjected him to torture.

Later they drew over Rs10 million from his bank account.

They also got transferred to their account US dollars worth over Rs30 million from the victim’s account, reads the FIR.  

The complainant further said that the kidnappers through torture and threats managed to get his signatures as well as thumb impressions on a stamp paper and a bank cheque.  

He said that although he was set free at last, the kidnappers asked him not to disclose to anyone what he had gone through.

Police have said that Adnan does the business of online forex trading.   

The Force has said that an investigation into the incident has been launched and soon the facts will be made public.
