US State Department categorically rejects PM’s allegations on 24News query

The United States State Department Thursday rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s allegations regarding the United States interference in the no-confidence motion against the PM or sending any threatening letter to Pakistan while answering queries posed by the 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per details, Ibrahim Raja Resident Editor of 24News sent an email to the US State Department for the official stance of the US State Department on the issue.

The State Department was asked seven questions.

1- Have U.S officials conveyed any concerns to Pakistan's Ambassador in Washington D.C. about foreign policy of Pakistan as stated and claimed by Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan.

2- Have U.S officials directly or indirectly conveyed to Pakistan's Ambassador that if no confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan does not succeed, this will create troubles for Pakistan in context of Pakistan U.S relationship.

3- PM Imran Khan claims that no confidence motion against him is a foreign conspiracy and his federal ministers suggest that U.S is allegedly behind no confidence motion moved by opposition parties. What is version of U.S on these allegations?

4 -Have U.S officials been in contact with opposition parties of Pakistan recently?

5 - Have U.S officials conveyed concerns to Pakistan's Ambassador about foreign policy of Pakistan for USA.

6- Have U.S officials conveyed that PM Imran Khan should not visit Russia and if he does, this will have repercussions.

7- Was Pakistan's Ambassador summoned by U.S officials and if he was summoned, what was the reason.

8- Who met or invited Pakistan's Ambassador to convey or express any kind of concerns.

Responding to the queries, the US State Department replied:

“Regarding U.S. involvement in the no-confidence motion against PM Khan or if the U.S. sent a threatening letter: There is no truth to these allegations.”
