Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said on Thursday it was an open secret that his party’s people were being victimised.

Talking to the media after a meeting between the negotiations teams of the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Gandapur said his party would keep people updated about the talks with the ruling coalition.

He said the foreign investment will come to Pakistan only if there is peace in the country. He said the nation was aware of PTI’s demands and added that they would soon share written demands with the government’s negotiations team.

Answering a question about the poor law and order situation in the Kurram District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gandapur said the situation in the area has been volatile for the last 50 years. He said the Jirga played a positive role to stabilize the situation in the area and the forces played their role well. He said the success of peace talks in Kurram is a guarantee for peace.

When asked if the PTI would show flexibility in talks with the government, Gandapur said that Imran Khan would decide how the talks would proceed.

Responding to the question about the government’s purported offer to shift Imran Khan to Bani Gala from Adiala Jail, Gandapur avoided a direct answer and said that he would make any decision on this issue public. He said that PTI workers shed their blood for democracy and real freedom. He said that formation of a committee for talks shows that the powers that be want solutions for problems. He said he is an open person; he does not believe in backdoor deals. He said that two sides should sit and resolve their issues in a democratic way. He said the PTI started talks on the instructions of the PTI found and only he could decide the fate of these talks.
