American magazine Billboard has issued a formal apology to renowned singer Taylor Swift for including a controversial clip in a tribute video created to honour her achievements.
The music magazine had recently compiled a list of the 21st century's best pop stars, ranking the 34-year-old singer in second place.
To celebrate Swift’s success, a special video was produced, but it featured a contentious clip that sparked widespread backlash. Facing public criticism, Billboard removed the clip and issued an apology, stating:
“We sincerely apologise to Taylor Swift and our readers and viewers for including a clip that inaccurately portrayed her.
The offending segment has been removed from the video, and we deeply regret the harm caused by this mistake.”
The magazine further expressed its commitment to ensuring such errors are avoided in the future.
