ECP asks Punjab, KP govts to complete transfers, postings before election schedule

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday directed the caretaker Chief Ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to complete the transfers and postings in the provinces as soon as possible, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The ECP, in its letters, told the caretaker governments of the provinces that any type of transfer and posting would be stopped after the election schedule.
According to the official sources, the ECP in its letters asked the caretaker chief ministers of Punjab and KP to change the chief secretaries and inspectors general of police (IGPs) of the provinces soon.
“To conduct transparent elections in the provinces, all the transfers and postings should be completed,” it directed.
It was also stated in the letters that the ECP would soon announce the schedule of general elections in the provinces.
And every type of transfer and posting will be stopped after the election schedule.
