Renowned businessman Lakhani injured in Karachi attack

A prominent businessman was seriously injured in a gun attack in Karachi on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A heavy contingent of police rushed to the crime scene and cordoned off the area. The police confirmed that the car riddled with bullets belonged to renowned businessman Muhammad Lakhani of Adamjee Group.
Lakhani’s car was targeted by unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles at Nauras Chowrangi in Pak Colongy. The attackers opened the fire on the vehicle from two sides.
Lakhani was rushed to Aga Khan Hospital where doctors said his condition was out of danger but he was still under treatment.
Police said they are collecting information about the incident from eyewitnesses.
SSP Kemari Fida Hussain Janwari said Lakhani’s driver Majid was also injured in the attack and was under treatment at a private hospital where doctors described his condition as stable.

The police officer said three attackers targeted the Corolla car of Mr Lakhani, who also retaliated and opened fire on them, after which they fled away.
He said it would be premature to say anything about the attackers.
