Business community of Karachi announces new airline: Air Karachi  

In a significant development for Pakistan's aviation sector, Karachi's business community has announced the launch of a new airline named Air Karachi, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Tuesday.

Spearheaded by prominent industrialist Hanif Gohar, the initiative aims to provide a robust transportation solution and boost regional connectivity.  

Speaking in a video statement, Hanif Gohar confirmed that the name "Air Karachi" has already been registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). An application for the airline's operational license has been submitted to the federal government, and the approval process is reportedly nearing completion.  

In its first phase, Air Karachi plans to lease three aircraft to commence operations. The airline's focus will be on providing reliable and efficient services, with the potential for expansion in the future.  

Southern Commander Air Vice Marshal Imran has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Air Karachi, ensuring strong leadership for the new airline.

The project is backed by an initial investment of Rs. 5 billion, with shares valued at Rs. 50 million per stakeholder.  

The venture has attracted some of Karachi's leading business figures, including: Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Arif Habib, SM Tanveer, Bashir Jan Muhammad, Khalid Tawab, Zubair Tufail and Hamza Tabani.

These individuals are widely recognized for their contributions to Pakistan's business and industrial landscape, adding credibility and financial strength to the initiative.  

The introduction of Air Karachi is anticipated to stimulate competition in the aviation sector, improve passenger services, and provide an economic boost through job creation and enhanced connectivity.  

Hanif Gohar expressed optimism that the airline would secure its operational license within a few days, paving the way for Air Karachi to officially launch.
