Two security men martyred in rocket attack on Khyber checkpost

Two law enforcers were martyred when terrorists launched a rocket attack on the Takhta Baig checkpost in the Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) last night.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the terrorists fled after a retaliatory operation by the police.
District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber Saleem Abbas Kalachi told the media that the terrorists attacked the joint Takhta Baig checkpost of the police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) with rocket launchers and other heavy weapons.
The DPO Khyber said that during the joint blockade of the terror attack in the night, a police officer and an FC soldier were martyred.
DPO Kalachi said Khyber police bravely repelled the attack and forced the terrorists to flee under the cover of darkness.
He said a heavy contingent of Khyber police arrived promptly and cordoned off the area for a search operation. He added that the timely response from both the Takhta Baig checkpost and the Nawab Shah Shaheed checkpost compelled the terrorists to retreat.

PM commends police, FC for thwarting terror attack

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday praised the Police and Frontier Constabulary personnel for foiling a terror attempt in Takhta Baig, Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Prime minister paid tribute to police officer Ijaz and FC officer Shehzad, who sacrificed their lives fighting terrorists for the sake of the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the martyrs’ elevation in Jannah and for patience and strength for their families to bear this irreparable loss.

Prime Minister stated that the armed forces, police, and law enforcement agencies have made countless sacrifices to achieve peace in Pakistan.

He said the Pakistani nation is proud of its brave heroes and their families and stands united to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from the country.

Interior Minister lauds FC, police personnel

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has paid tributes to FC and police personnel for beating back terrorists’ attack in Khyber Agency. He also lauded the martyred security men for showing bravery.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the government and the security forces were committed to wipe out terrorism through unity and consensus.

Governor Kundi condemns attack on checkpost

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday condemned the terrorist attack on Takhtbeg check-post in the merged district Khyber.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expressed regret over the martyrdom of police and FC jawan in the incident.

Governor expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs.

Governor Kundi prayed Almighty Allah for the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to bereaved family members to bear this irreparable lose with fortitude.

He said that the sacrifices of the police and security forces will not go in vain in the war against terrorism.
