It appears that lawless elements have no regard for the person they are preying on as became evident when a prayer leader at a mosque in Karachi was robbed of Rs16,000 in cash and a mobile phone, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Narrating his ordeal to the police, the man who leads prayers at a mosque in a mobile market in Saddar area of the city said that he was returning home after offering Isha prayers on Monday night that two armed men intercepted him, and took away cash as well as a cellphone from him. “I kept imploring to them that I am Imam at a mosque. Please spare me. But they did not listen to me at all and made away with the valuables,” he added.

The case of the incident was registered at Preedy police station.

The CCTV footage of the incident, which 24News has managed to obtain, clearly shows two men fleeing after committing the crime.
