CM Buzdar orders probe into maltreatment of corona patients

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has ordered an investigation into the event taking place a day ago in Lahore’s Expo Centre Field Hospital where the corona patients had protested against the staff’s behaviour, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
While seeking areport from the provincial health minister and secretary health, the CM instructed the authorities to ensure best possible means for the treatment of the COVID-19 patients. “Besides, they should be provided with quality food,” ordered the CM in response to the complaints of the patients who resented the provision of the substandard food.
It was the general complaint by the agitated patients that they “are being treated more like prisoners than patients.”
While taking notice of the tumult echoing around the Expo Centre Field Hospital, CM Buzdar instructed the relevant authorities to ensure all the necessary facilities on priority basis.
The CM further instructed to identify and take action against “anyone who is found involved in committing any kind of negligence.”
While referring to the concerned authorities in charge of the Expo Centre Field Hospital, Buzdar said “It is the responsibility of the authorities to cater the needs of the patients,” and added that “I will not tolerate any negligence in this regard.”
