Lahore declared most polluted city on globe, crackdown starts against smoking-emitting vehicles

Global air quality monitors have placed Pakistan’s Lahore city as the most polluted in the world on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV.
US Air quality index has ranked Lahore as the most polluted city in the world, with an air quality index (AQI) of 397 on Monday, which is categorized as “hazardous”.
Karachi came in 13th with an AQI of 139, which is categorized as unhealthy for sensitive groups.
Smog is a matter of concern for Pakistan since 2016, which mean breathing in hazardous air.
The Punjab government has taken strict action to contain smog, this winter.
In this regard, DIG Traffic Punjab Sohail Sukhera has directed all the Chief Traffic Officers and Traffic Heads of the province to take strict actions against the smoke emitting vehicles with immediate effects and launched a crackdown against them from today.
