Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Tuesday did not appear before the investigation committee of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that had been formed to inquire into the alleged conspiracy against his government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The FIA had issued a notice to Shah Mahmood Qureshi to appear before the investigation committee on Tuesday.

Before Shah Mehmood Qureshi, former principal secretary Azam Khan and former foreign secretary Sohail Mehmood had also been summoned.

Azam Khan had not appeared before the investigation committee, for he was abroad.

Former foreign secretary Sohail Mehmood Chaudhry had appeared at the FIA office and answered the questions of the investigation committee.

In the light of Sohail Mehmood’s answers, the former foreign minister had been summoned for questioning.

It was also learnt that Shah Mehmood Qureshi was in Gujranwala for the long march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and therefore he could not appear before the FIA team.

The FIA may reissue a notice to him for not appearing for the investigation committee.
