The statements of the government witnesses in the cipher case could not be recorded even today as the lawyers for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan sought more time from the court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The scheduled hearing of the cipher case in Adiala Jail could not take place.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) conducted a hearing on the petition of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi to provide documents related to his trial.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case.
“We issued notices on your bail plea. The office has objections to your request. Certified copies of FIR and challans are pinned to the plea,” the IHC chief justice said.
“It is written in the judgment on the petition of the PTI chairman that no right of the accused should be bulldozed. This is what I have said to everyone that there should be a trial under a rule of law,” he added.
“We are removing objections to your petition,” he said to the petitioner’s lawyer.
“It is requested that this petition be kept for hearing along with the bail plea,” Ali Bukhari Advocate requested.
The court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing till next week
