Boxer Amir Khan arrives in Pakistan for a major fight

British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan has arrived in Islamabad for the biggest-ever Boxing Championship in the history of Pakistan being arranged by the Amir Khan Academy in the Pakistani federal capital on 3rd October, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

Amir Khan arrived with her wife Faryal Makhdoom. The TV channel reported Amir Khan will have a bout for Usman Wazeer ‘The Asian Boy’ Title. Pakistani boxers are also taking part in the championship.

It is pertinent to note that Amir is a former unified light-welterweight world champion, having held the WBA (later Super) title from 2009 to 2012, and the IBF title in 2011.

At the regional level, he held the Commonwealth lightweight title from 2007 to 2008. Amir also held the WBC Silver welterweight title from 2014 to 2016.
