Sri Lanka offers to send back Pakistani prisoners

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have decided to swap prisoners under an international accord, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to sources, Sri Lankan authorities contacted Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to send back Pakistanis imprisoned in Sri Lankan jails.
The sources said that more than 20 Pakistanis are imprisoned in Sri Lankan prisons in connection with a raft of cases.
These prisoners are mostly imprisoned in drug trafficking cases
Sri Lankan authorities will hand over all these prisoners to the FIA and in this regard, an 11-member team will go to Sri Lanka.
The sources further said that FIA has sought permission from the Interior Ministry to send the team to Sri Lanka.
However, after the approval of the Interior Ministry, the 11-member team will leave for Sri Lanka, the sources said.
