PM reviews progress on Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting regarding Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project.
During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the project. The prime minister directed the authorities concerned to prepare monitoring report on daily basis. He also directed to remove all administrative hurdles in the project. He directed to ensure high international standards in project completion.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also directed to overcome water shortage and pollution in Lahore. Construction industry in Pakistan is growing due to effective steps taken by the government, he added. He said that the project would be a master piece for overseas and local Pakistanis.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, SAPM Shahzad Akbar, Special Assistant to PM Zulfiqar Bukhari, Provincial Minister Fiazul Hassan Chohan, Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Chairman General (r) Anwar Ali Haider, Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project Chairman Rashid Aziz and senior bureaucrats attended the meeting.

On August 7, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the project in Lahore. He said a new city equipped with latest facilities would be built near Lahore with an investment of Rs5 trillion from the private sector.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister said Pakistan was on the tipping point to move forward on the path of progress and development. He said that incentives had been given to the construction sector and Naya Pakistan Housing Project and promotion of construction sector would support 40 other industries.
