Cyclone ASNA moves further away from Pakistan; heads towards Oman

Cyclone ASNA, after producing torrential rains and strong winds in Sindh, Balochistan and other parts of the country, has now moved further away from Karachi and other coastal areas of the country, and now heading towards Oman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the ninth alert issued by the Met Office, the storm will, however, have a strong impact on the Makran coast as winds will blow at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour, and may reach up to 80 kilometers.
The storm now lies 500 kilometers south-west of Karachi, 350 kilometers south-west of Ormara, 260 kilometers south of Gwadar, and east and south-east of Oman.
The alert says that the cyclone is moving in the west, south-westerly direction and is weakening gradually.
However, it says still it will produce moderate rainfall in Karachi and heavy spells of rain in Gwadar, Hub, Lasbela, Awaran and Kech.
The fishermen of Sindh and Balochistan have still not been allowed to go deep into the sea because of stormy conditions.
