The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has intensified action against PTI social media activists accused of spreading propaganda against the state organs, reported 24, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The FIA has registered a case against ten PTI-affiliated social media activists under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and cyber terrorism clauses.

According to the FIR, the accused used artificial intelligence-generated and old videos and images to create misleading posts about events at Islamabad's D-Chowk, aiming to incite unrest.

The FIR added that this act of cyberterrorism was intended to manipulate public sentiment and create a false narrative about law enforcement and government actions.

The PTI activists alleged the government for killing several protestants during recent political events.

In response, the cybercrime wing has launched a crackdown, initiating raids to arrest the suspects involved in the case.

Authorities vowed to continue pursuing individuals using social media platforms for malicious and unlawful activities that threaten national stability.
