Taking notice of violation of the ban imposed on giving protocols to passengers at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, the airport manager has told the staff not to give protocol to any passenger in view of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) introduced due to the coronavirus pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a letter to all the airport staff, including officers, on Tuesday, Manager Akhtar Mirza warned them of disciplinary action if they failed to comply with his instructions.
In the letter, the manager expressed concern that the airport staff had been seen obtaining entry passes even after their duty hours were over to give protocols to passengers. “The employees thus go against the duty law, coronavirus-related SOPs and the protocol policy,” Mirza wrote in the letter.
He directed them that from now on not to provide such facility to the passengers without bringing this to the notice of the concerned in-charge or terminal manager.
Similarly, he told them to stop seeking entry passes to facilitate passengers even after their duty hours were over.
Manager Akhtar Mirza further directed the staff to contact Civil Aviation Porter Counter to guide the passengers.
The letter reads that any employee found breaching the instructions will either be transferred or his entry pass cancelled.
Airport manager orders all officers to keep an eye on the activities of their subordinates.
