January 2, 2023 10:19 PM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) senior leader Fawad Chaudhry has rectified the statement of PTI chairman Imran Khan, saying that after retirement, Gen (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa is no more a part of the establishment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Gujranwala on Monday, he said controlling social media and imposing restrictions on media will not restore the national economy.

“Azam Swati has got bail, we hope he will also get justice, he said adding that his arrest is a black mark on the face of the country’s justice system. He said that Senator Swati was treated like this for challenging powerful people in the country.

He alleged the incumbent government is involved in human rights violations since the day the rulers assumed power. “Arshad Sharif was martyred. Imran Riaz and Jameel Farooqi were subjected to torture,” he added.

He said that the credit for fixing the problems of Karachi goes to Gen retired Raheel Sharif and other military officers.  The establishment has played its role in addressing the problems of Quaid’s city. “Now, attempts are being made to stop PTI by doing hooliganism in Karachi.”

He said that bringing together different factions of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and creating a violent situation in Karachi will be a betrayal of the blood of martyrs.

In Balochistan, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has become a mother and his children are being included in PPP, he added.

The former information minister said obstacles were put in dissolving the Punjab Assembly.

He said 70% of the vote belongs to Imran Khan. Ahsan Iqbal and Rana Sanaullah who kept asking for elections and now ran away from holding elections, he added.

He said the party leadership has decided to issue a “White Paper” on the country’s economic situation.

He added the white paper will be issued by the PTI based on the proposals of the economic experts. He said PTI will cover all aspects of economy in the white paper.  Businessmen and the whole of Pakistan are worried about the economy, he hinted.

The PTI senior leader said the political and economic conditions of Pakistan are in front of everyone.

He lamented that gold prices have gone up a lot and people are buying gold after the dollar.

“Seventy percent of people want elections in Pakistan, they want to stop the elections with the force of a stick”

The Chief Ministers of KP and Balochistan were not called in the National Security Committee meeting, he said.

Fawad Ch said that ever since Shahbaz Sharif's government came, they have not made any contact with Afghanistan.
