ECP unveils schedule for election on Senate seat vacated by Vawda

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the schedule to hold election on the Senate seat fell vacant after resignation of Faisal Vawda, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The ECP declared on Monday that the election on the vacant Senate general seat from Sindh will be held on January 25.
According to the schedule, the nomination papers can be filed from January 5 to 7 and their scrutiny process will be held on January 12.
The nomination papers can be withdrawn by January 20.
Voting for the Senate seat will be held in Sindh Assembly building on January 25.
Petition against PTI senator
The ECP also fixed for preliminary hearing a petition seeking disqualification of PTI Senator Abdul Qadir.
The ECP issued notices to respondents for January 5.
The ECP was prayed in the petition to disqualify Senator Abdul Qadir on charges of hiding his assets.
