Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal has said that his party is being kept away from elections under a conspiracy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta on Monday, Akhtar Mengal said that 2018 election was ‘Faizabadi’ while 2024 election would be ‘Faisalabadi’.

He said that the BNP was being kept away from elections under a scheme. He predicted that the 2024 election would prove to be the worst ‘selection’.

In a shocking development, the Returning Officer in Khuzdar on Saturday rejected the nomination papers of Akhtar Mengal on the grounds that he owned an offshore company.

Lamenting the ROs’ decisions, Mengal said papers of 12 BNP-M’s candidates for NA seats were rejected.

He rued that Balochistan was experimented in every era and an artificial leadership was created.

He alleged that in Nasrbab area of Quetta, agencies people were going from house to house to change people's opinion. “If you want to bring the people you like, why you are holding the drama of election,” Mengal asked.

He said that after the announcement of elections, political activities could not be started in a democratic way.

“Under the democratic process, the people should be given the right to choose their favorite candidates,” he added.

Mengal said that even today many BNP-M people were missing. “Conspiracies to weaken the BNP have been going on since the time of General ® Musharraf,’ he added.

He said that his party would file appeals against ROs’ decisions in the high court tribunals and then in the Supreme Court.
