Govt suspends car manufacturers' licenses again

The government suspended the licenses of car manufacturers again as they failed to fulfil the terms and conditions of manufacturing in the country.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the government had restored the manufacturers' licenses temporarily till December 2023 but now these have been suspended again.
The channel report said car manufacturers were asked to submit a business plan by December 31, 2023, but only three big car manufacturing companies filed their plans to the authorities.
Resultantly, action was taken for non-fulfilment of conditions like localization of vehicles with 2 per cent export and increasing the production of vehicles at the local level.
Also, the car manufacturing companies did not fulfil the condition of producing vehicle equipment and spare parts at the local level.
