Govt tactfully handled challenges in 2024, says Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has said that the government tactfully and effectively handled the challenges in the year 2024 and is committed to fulfilling all its promises to the nation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While briefing media men in Islamabad on Thursday, Ishaq Dar maintained that 2024 was of great significance, expressing the hope that this year would prove to be the best for Pakistan.
The deputy prime minister said the government had handled the challenges in 2024. Despite facing numerous challenges, there were claims that Pakistan was heading towards diplomatic isolation, he said and added however, upon assuming office the government worked tirelessly on all fronts, neutralizing the propaganda of diplomatic isolation.
The foreign minister further said that when the government took over inflation was at sky high, but significant reduction had since been applied bringing it down to below five percent now and the interest rate, which was at 22%, has now been cut down to 13%.
Ishaq Dar apprised the newsmen that the government was fully focused on fulfilling its promises to the masses and that the economic situation was improving. Just two days ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had launched the “Uraan Pakistan” programme for economic growth, he added.
Dar also mentioned the recent changes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the appointment of Mumtaz Zahra Baloch as Pakistan’s ambassador to France.
Additionally, Shafqat Ali Khan was appointed as the new spokesman for the Foreign Office and he will start addressing media briefings from next week, Dar added.
