An accountability court (AC) in Islamabad on Friday for the second time rejected the applications for acquittal filed by three former National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officers in misuse of powers case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pronouncing the verdict reserved in the case, AC judge Asghar Ali rejected the applications filed by former DG NAB Khursheed Anwar Bhinder, Subah Sadiq and Mirza Shafiq.

The NAB had itself filed references against three of its officers in 2016 for preparing a fake reference.

However, the officers again approached the AC in the light of orders of a high court.

The court had rejected their acquittal applications in March last year as well.
