A number of decisions were taken at the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), chaired by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that the meeting approved the opening of the Kohat Oil Depot; it approved a supplementary technical grant for the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir; supplementary technical grant of Rs1.70 billion for all district headquarter hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for dealing with coronavirus and other pandemics.

Similarly, the ECC okayed the grant for civil armed forces as recommended by the interior ministry in order to enhance their capacity; it approved a supplementary technical grant of Rs19 crore under the head of Internal Security Duty Allowance; okayed supplementary technical grant of over Rs200.41 million for the payment of arrears to the FC personnel and families of the martyrs.

Likewise, the meeting approved a supplementary technical grant for the executive departments of Defence Ministry; supplementary technical grant to meet the expenditures of Pakistan Rangers, Punjab; release of funds for the interior ministry; supplementary technical grant of Rs25 million for the National Heritage Division; supplementary technical grant of Rs15 million for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The ECC also gave a go-ahead signal to the appointment of foreign engineering consultant for Port Qasim Authority, while it put off extension in government’s guarantee for the loan borrowed by TIP from the National Bank of Pakistan.
