The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced its reserved decision on the nominations for the reserved seats in the Punjab Assembly.

The commission approved PML-N's request and stayed the notification of new MPAs on five seats of the Punjab Assembly reserved for women and minorities after they fell vacant following the de-seating of 25 dissident PTI lawmakers.

The notification will be issued after the by-elections.  According to the ECP verdict, the notification would stay until by-elections are held. A five-member bench announced the ruling that was reserved earlier today in line with the Lahore High Court's (LHC) directives.

Earlier, Attorney General Ashtar Osaf and Advocate General Punjab Shehzad Shaukat also appeared before the Election Commission

PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry and PML-N lawyer Khalid Ishaq completed their arguments. The Election Commission had de-notified 25 dissident members of the Punjab Assembly. The reserved seats include 3 women's and 2 minority seats.
