Zero sales tax on petroleum products notified

In a move to provide relief to masses after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcement of decreasing POL prices by Rs10, the authorities Wednesday notified that there would be zero percent sales tax on the petroleum products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the notification, the sales tax ratio on petrol, diesel and light diesel and kerosene oil would be 0.00 percent.
Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday had announced the slashing of petroleum products’ prices by Rs10 per litre and electricity tariff by Rs5 per unit as part of a series of measures to bring some relief to the inflation-hit public.
The relief was announced by the premier as he addressed the nation about the country's economic situation.
