Tribal leader Arif Wazir succumbs to injuries at PIMS Islamabad

Arif Wazir, a former candidate for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, succumbed to his injuries at PIMS Islamabad on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Wazir, who was a local political leader in the tribal region, was seriously injured as unidentified gunmen attacked him in the Wana town of South Waziristan on Friday night.
He was first shifted to Dera Ismail Khan’s main hospital after receiving initial treatment at a local health facility. However, his critical condition necessitated transferring him to Islamabad.
His funeral prayers will be offered in Dera Ismail Khan on Saturday evening and in Wana on Monday morning.
According to sources, Wazir was on way home from a local market when the attackers opened fire at himon Friday and fled the scene in a car.
