Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting on the upcoming budget and the country's economy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Captain in the meeting hunted suggestions from his reliable senior leadership of the party regarding the forthcoming budget. He was informed that despite coronavirus epidemic, the rate of revenue before the recent smart lockdown had almost doubled since April last year. The meeting was informed that the budget for the next financial year will be a development budget in which all the focus will be on increasing the growth rate.

It was also told to the PM in meeting that the global economy has been affected due to Corona, but thanks to the comprehensive policies of the government, the wheel of the national economy is running smoothly.

On this occasion, Imran Khan was also briefed on a comprehensive strategy for curbing inflation in the country on which he directed to pay special attention on development projects in the forthcoming budget.

He said that development projects should be finalized keeping in view the needs of the people as well as ensuring completion of ongoing projects.

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Federal Ministers Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, Shafqat Mehmood, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, Provincial Ministers Hashim Javan Bakht, Timur Saleem Jhagra and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
