Prime Minister Imran Khan has declared that he has sent a summary to President Arif Alvi to dissolve the assemblies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his address to the nation minutes after the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri rejected joint opposition’s no-confidence motion against the prime minister declaring it against Article 5 of the Constitution, Imran Khan appeared on the state-owned television and congratulated the nation on the rejection of the move in the assembly.

Imran Khan said that he has asked the President to dissolve the Assemblies. “There should be elections in a democratic way. I call upon the people of Pakistan to prepare for elections,” Imran Khan said.

"I congratulate every Pakistani on the Speaker's decision. The no-confidence motion was a foreign conspiracy against us. Pakistan should decide who should govern them," Imran Khan said in his address to the nation.

He reiterated he would not let any foreign conspiracy to succeed. “We are a democratic society and we, the democrats, should go to the people. People should decide about it. There should be new elections in the country where people should decide the fate of the country, not the foreign powers and sold-out parliamentarians who were filling their coffers,” he said in a resolute tone.

He mocked that those who spent billions to buy the loyalties of assembly members, their money had gone wasted now. He urged the sold-out parliamentarians to spend this money in charitable activities.

The prime minister said that he kept on receiving messages from many people who were worried about the no-trust motion, but he was not worried. He said the ‘treason’ was being committed in front of the entire nation. “I would like to say, 'ghabrana nahi hai' (do not worry). God is watching over Pakistan," he added.

He again asked the nation to get prepared for new election saying that after his summary reached the president office, the president would dissolve the assemblies and then the next step before them would be to form the caretaker administration.

In the end, the prime minister thanked Allah and congratulated his countrymen that his government was able to foil a huge foreign conspiracy against a democratically elected government.
