An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Sargodha has sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza on 14-day judicial remand in four cases related to the Mianwali riots, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
They are accused in the case of torching Kamar Mashani police station in Mianwali on May 9 – a day when PTI activists took to the streets to vent their spleen over the arrest of ex-PM Imran Khan in a corruption case.
The PTI mob damaged public property, state assets, and sensitive installations, leaving a trail of devastation.
The ATC Judge in Sargodha heard the cases registered against PTI activists Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza today.
Both were produced before the ATC by police after the completion of their one-day transit remand.
The investigation officer (IO) contended to the court that both were involved in riots that occurred in Mianwali in the May 9 mayhem and they required further investigation in these cases.
The ATC approved a 14-day remand of both women PTI leaders Sanam Javed and Alia Hamza.
