Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf chairman Imran Khan again taking U-turn has announced that they will dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies in the current month and go for elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A day ago, the former prime minister had invited the ruling collation to talk over the possibility of early elections.
In the reply, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) expressed willingness to go into talks with Imran Khan-led PTI without any precondition to stem political turmoil in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the parliamentary party of KP through a video link on Saturday, the PTI chief again rolled back from his offer to the government for talks and clarified that his previous statement was just meant to emphasize the gravity of the situation.
PTI Chief claimed that Pakistan’s economic situation is spiralling out of control and the country heads towards default but Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his predecessor Miftah Ismail are engaged in a public spat.
The former premier criticizing the government said the only achievement of the allied government in the past seven months is that they managed to get relief for themselves in corruption cases against them.
He also expressed his hope that the new military leadership would have immediately disassociated itself from the eight months of the previous army chief’s action against the PTI.
Imran Khan also warned that “if something happens to Senator Swati, we will go after everyone responsible for arresting him”.
He said that what happened with the PTI senator was the highest level of oppression.
“He was first beaten up in front of his grandchildren and then, on orders of Dirty Harry, he was stripped naked and tortured,” the PTI chief claimed, saying that any person would be angry if such a treatment was meted out at them.
Imran further said that the people who took Swati to Quetta had turned Pakistan’s justice system into “a joke”.
