The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is going to show its strength in Bahawalpur. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz reached the city where PDM President Maulana Fazl will lead a public gathering.
Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will represent the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). The local admin disallowed the meeting and detained supporters of the 11-party union to topple PTI government.
On the other hand, PM Imran Khan said people will pay no heed to the PDM’s ‘long march’ and rejected the opposition’s allegation of a ‘puppet’ premier.
Reportedly, he reiterated his no-to-NRO resolve and said from the day first of PTI rule, the opposition was giving deadlines, but to no avail.
The key leaders of PDM met the other day at Jati Umra in Lahore for devising a strategy to further the move against the government. PPP wooed the PDM on the issue of resignations and Senate election.
Fazlur Rehman led the session while Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto joined the meeting through video link.
PML-N leaders Maryam Nawaz, Pervaiz Rasheed, Ayaz Sadiq, and Khawaja Saad Rafique and PPP’s Yousuf Raza Gilani, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Farahatullah Babar attended the meeting.
