Customs seizes 70 tolas of gold from two passengers

The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Peshawar on Tuesday claimed to have seized nearly 70 tolas of gold from the belongings of two passengers arriving from abroad at the Bacha Khan International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Customs officials in their two different operations checked the luggage of two passengers arriving from Bahrain and Dubai and recovered 70 tolas of gold from their possessions.
Four gold bars were recovered from the luggage of the accused Muhammad Khan. He is a resident of Lower Dir and had arrived at Peshawar Airport from Bahrain. In another operation, three gold bars were recovered from the baggage of Ali Zafar. The accused Ali Zafar is a resident of Swabi and had reached Peshawar Airport from Dubai.
The suspects were unable to provide any legal documents during the investigation. The suspects were arrested after taking the gold into custody under the 1969 Custom Act by the officials.
