A resolution was been submitted to the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday for deporting an American woman on charges of maligning Benazir Bhutto.
PPP lawmaker Hassan Murtaza moved the resolution against Cynthia D Ritchie, stating that Benazir Bhutto was the first woman PM of the Islamic world.
“The woman who calls herself a blogger and dancer is living in Pakistan and working against Pakistan’s national interests and security,” the PPP MPA said.
He also questioned the foreigners stay in Pakistan and reason for being here. Cynthia is violating international laws so she should be deported, he added.
Hassan told the media that Cynthia slandered against Pakistan and Benazir Bhutto deeply hurt the sentiments of supporters of PPP.
He said the foreigner was constantly conspiring against the democracy of Pakistan by launching a well-organised campaign against the political leadership and public representatives of Pakistan.
