Punjab raises traffic fines, without helmet challan is Rs 600 in Punjab

Punjab government has approved the recommendations for further increase in traffic challan that will add more additional on citizens, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Punjab cabinet has approved an increase in traffic challan and from now onwards violating a traffic signal law for motorcyclists is Rs 400 instead Rs 300. The challan for riding a motorcycle without a helmet has been Rs 600 instead of Rs 200.
The provincial cabinet has set Rs 1000 fine on rash driving, wrong-way driving and use of pressure horns while Rs 200 to Rs 400 fine for driving a motorbike without lights at night.
The cabinet has also set a new challan fee of Rs 500 for underage motorcycle riders while challan on rickshaw has also been increased up to Rs 250.
Now, there is a Rs 1000 fine on motorcycles and Rs 2000 on vehicles on account of fake number plates. While, Rs 500 for motorcycle and rickshaw drivers who drive vehicles without driving license and Rs 750 for car drivers.
