Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi Friday said a propaganda campaign is being launched against Imran Khan and his statement is being distorted.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, former foreign minister Qureshi said the Pak army is a national institution and they never criticize it as the sacrifices of soldiers against terrorism are not hidden from anyone.
Qureshi said each institution has its own role as per the constitution and when institutions operate within their constitutional limits, complications do not arise.
He said PTI Chairman Imran Khan has only said that a lesson should be learned from history, adding that when there is chaos in the country, the opposing external forces take advantage of it.
The PTI leader said they made difficult decisions, through mutual consultation on different issues like after the Pulwama incident and the dire situation in Afghanistan.
Former foreign minister Qureshi said when the politicians become tools of an external force to gain and perpetuate power, they object.
Criticizing Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s statements against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Qureshi said people did not forget Mian Nawaz Sharif's speech at Nawaz League’s rally in Gujranwala.
He further stated that Maryam Nawaz first give an account of her speeches against the institutions.
Today Pakistan is being pushed towards default, Qureshi said adding that in the last PTI government, the IMF appreciated their economic policies as the growth rate was reached 6 percent.
